A world-renowned brand for the world class citizen — that’s what I would call a Citizen timepiece. The Japanese brand Citizen has been around for exactly a hundred years, its story beginning in 1918 in Tokyo. Back then it was known as the ‘Shokosha Watch Research Institute’, but was renamed the Citizen Watch Company in 1930. I’ve been a big fan of the Citizen watch since my childhood where I used to see my dad wearing this beautifully classic silver dial watch. It was a neat piece, one that showed the time at a glance. Wrist watches performed the only function of showing the time back then…and dad’s watch never missed a beat for several years.
Since 1918, Citizen has given the world many firsts, and the company is known to make some of the most technologically advanced timepieces. Moreover, buying a Citizen watch rarely burns a hole in your pocket. Citizen created the slimmest LCD timepiece, the first wrist watch with a voice recognition feature as also the first one with an electronic depth sensor.
Citizen has initiated one of the largest green movements around the world. Most of their timepieces use the “Citizen Eco Drive” technology where the lithium ion batteries in the watch are powered by any light source. The Citizen Eco Drive watch was an instant hit with both, the environmentally conscious and the lay consumer alike. People loved the fact that the watch does not need a battery replacement every now and then, thus reducing the harmful waste generated in the environment due to battery disposal.
At Citywatches.ca, I came across the Citizen Chandler FB1443-08A Chronograph Eco-Drive Women’s Watch retailing for $245. In fact, the website (https://www.zetamarket.com/) has a huge collection of Citizen watches for men and women at competitive prices. Check out the wide array of Citizen watches, you might find one to add to your collection or a perfect gift for a loved one.
The Citizen Chandler Chrono seemed like the perfect gift for my dear mom who loves the simplistic, no frills stuff. And of course, being an environment conscious soul, would love the Eco Drive feature. Being a fan of the Citizen watch, I thought it to be a great piece with the classic charm and a distinguishing feminine style that looked versatile enough to go with casual or formal wear.
The pink gold tone of the stainless-steel case with matching pink blush leather strap makes it a distinctive women’s watch. The clear white dial features black hour marking, a 1 second chronograph, 12/24 hour and date at 4 o’clock position. Features Japanese movement H504 ensuring a lifetime of great service that all Citizen watches are known for.
Needless to say, I was extremely pleased with my purchase of the Citizen Chandler Chrono and my mom loved it too…
